BCM

What Is the BCM?
Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) is an officially recognized student organization on the campus of Clayton State Univeristy. We love Jesus, love our campus and seek ways to serve both. Clayton BCM offers the following opportunities to get involved.
Weekly Meetings
Clayton BCM holds a meeting each Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in room B13 featuring a FREE lunch and guest speaker.

  • Note: If your church would like to participate in providing lunches for the BCM at Clayton State University, please contact Martha Germany at 770.478.3115 or email to novelmartha@bellsouth.net. Lunches should be on campus 5 to 10 minutes before the meeting at 11:30 am on Thursdays in Building B, Room 13. A suggested sack lunch of a sandwich, chips, fruit, cookies and a canned drink and/or bottled water is appropriate.
Small Groups
There are several on-going small groups through Clayton BCM. Some are studies of books of the Bible, others follow a "book club" format. You can find out more or sign up for a group at our weekly meetings.
Service Projects
During the semester Clayton State, BCM seeks ways to serve our campus. Learn more about these opportunities at our weekly meetings or in a small group.
Confluence & Overflow
Clayton BCM takes part in two conferences offered by Georgia BCM each year. Confluence is held each Autumn and Overflow happens in the Spring.  Learn more at www.confluenceGA.com and www.KALEOconference.com.
"Send Me Now" Missions
Send Me Now offers summer missions opportunities to BCM students across Georgia. Application are usually due in mid-January. Learn more at www.sendmenow.net.

FROM GABCM.net:

Priorities for Georgia Collegiate Ministry:

  1. First and foremost, we will model the kind of growing discipleship that we are encouraging in our students.  We will continually be students of scripture and our professional skills.
  2. We will communicate regularly and effectively with the vital stakeholders of our ministry.
  3. We will develop a holistic discipleship program in each BCM that embraces students “where they are? As disciples and encourage them to grow further.
  4. We will train this generation of BCM leaders in such a way that they will be healthy and effective church leaders-now and following their graduation.
  5. We will train and give opportunities for students to effectively and energetically share the Gospel-utilizing their ever-deepening discipleship and giftedness.
  6. We will provide students with opportunities for missions and ministry experiences and help them to understand the relationship between growing discipleship and Christian service.
  7. We will resource the churches as they develop church-based collegiate ministries and partner with those church ministries to develop strategies that reach all collegians in our association/town/area.
  8. We will be effective managers and stewards of the financial and building resources entrusted to us by the GBC, local associations, and churches.
