The state of Georgia has 159 counties. According to the latest information, eight (8) of those counties have an unchurched population of 80% or higher. Our own Clayton county is one of those eight counties!
In the established churches across our convention it takes 47 church members a year to lead one person to Christ (47:1). In the churches of South Metro the average is 55 to 1. However, in the new SBC churches being planted in the United States the ratio is usually 10 to 1 or better. That means that starting new churches is one of the fastest and most effective ways to reach the unchurched.
All of the 2010 Associational Missions Emphasis will go directly into a designated Church Planting Fund. Your gift will be used to help start new churches in the South Metro Baptist Association (SMBA).
We also ask that you pray for the leadership of the SMBA and the pastors and churches that work together to do God’s work in our association.
